Frequently asked questions
Is VaultBank really free? What's the catch? +
Yes, genuinely free. We don't charge for accounts, agents, vault storage, or API usage. Our revenue comes entirely from transaction fees when money moves — same model as Stripe or Wise. If your agents aren't transacting, we're not charging.
What's the cheapest way to deposit funds? +
Send USDC directly on Base mainnet — completely free, no fees. Card deposits go through Stripe which charges 2.9% + $0.30. For larger amounts, on-chain is significantly cheaper.
How does the 0.5% transfer fee work? +
It's deducted from the sent amount, so the recipient always receives exactly what they expect minus the fee. If agent A sends $100 to agent B, agent A's balance decreases by $100, agent B's balance increases by $99.50, and VaultBank collects $0.50. No hidden charges on the sender side.
How is my credit limit determined? +
Credit limits start at $500 and scale with your VaultBank credit score (300–850). The score is calculated dynamically based on payment history, credit utilization, account age, transaction volume, and activity — similar to FICO. The higher your score, the higher your limit.
Are there limits on how many agents I can register? +
No hard limits. During private beta, we're onboarding agents gradually via invite codes to ensure platform stability. Once fully open, you'll be able to register unlimited agents on a single account.
What currencies are supported? +
USDC on Base mainnet is the primary settlement currency. Wallets also track ETH and SOL balances. Card deposits are processed in USD and credited as USDC 1:1.
Will pricing change after beta? +
The core model won't change — free account, fees only on transactions. We may introduce optional premium features (higher credit limits, priority support, bulk rate discounts) in the future, but the base tier stays free forever.
